What is cannabidiol (CBD)?
CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of over 110 compounds found in hemp plants that are called cannabinoids. CBD is non-psychoactive which means it does not produce a “high.”
Do you test your products for quality and safety?
Yes. We pride ourselves on providing the highest standards for quality, purity, and potency. CBD Care 4 Pets products are third-party tested for: Cannabinoid Profiling, Pesticide Testing, Microbiological Screening, Terpene Analysis and Residual Solvent Testing, and THC Content.
Where do you source your CBD oil from?
Our CBD oil is made with organically grown hemp from Colorado. Our products are made without any synthetic or artificial ingredients. Our Farms are registered with the Department of Agriculture of Colorado.
If hemp and marijuana both come from cannabis plants, how is hemp safe?
Hemp and marijuana are two separate varieties of cannabis plants that originated in different continents. Hemp is technically called Cannabis sativa and originates from Europe. This variety has extremely low levels of THC — tetrahydrocannabinol which is the sole psychoactive chemical in marijuana varieties that produces the high.
Hemp’s natural THC levels are safe as is, but with safe and common breeding & farming practices, hemp’s THC content can be lowered to non-exist levels (0.3% or less). This gives it the legal definition “industrial hemp” which can be legally purchased and used in all 50 states, as well as in most of the world. Think of hemp and marijuana in the same way you think of grape juice and wine.
Will CBD make my pet feel “high”?
No. Your pet will not experience a “high” feeling from ingesting CBD oil. Unlike marijuana, hemp contains extremely low to zero levels of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the compound in marijuana responsible for a “high” feeling. CBD Care 4 Pets products are non-addictive, non-toxic and non-psychoactive. To ensure the highest standard, CBD Care 4 Pets is 100% THC and certified by 3rd party labs. Our products contain 0% THC.
What happens if my pet takes more than the recommended dosage?
You have absolutely nothing to worry about! There are zero recorded incidences of overdosing on CBD products, yet we still highly recommend you adhere to the suggested dose for your pet according to their weight.
Is CBD Care 4 Pets safe for dogs, cats and horses?
Yes. CBD can be safely used for both canines, felines, and equines.
Can I use CBD for other animals besides dogs, cats and horses?
Yes, but we recommend that you exert caution and use a small dose to start.
Are there any negative side effects?
CBD is safe, non-psychotropic and has minimal (like dry-mouth and drowsiness) side effects for your furry pets.
What’s the difference between Industrial Hemp and Marijuana?
CBD oil from hemp is not the same as the oil that is extracted from marijuana. The main difference between the two is that CBD oil from marijuana can contain varying amounts of THC. The hemp oil produced from industrial hemp is naturally high in CBD and contains zero traces of THC which makes it safe and non-psychoactive.
What is CO2 extraction?
CBD Care 4 Pets uses a chemical-free CO2 extraction process that uses pressurized carbon dioxide to pull the desired phytochemicals (such as CBD) from a plant. Our process is free of harsh chemical solvents to extract our CBD oil. CO2 extraction is environmentally friendly and non-toxic. It is also considered the most expensive and safest plant extraction method in the world.
Do you offer a return policy?
Yes. Your satisfaction is our top priority, which is why your order is backed by a 90-day money-back guarantee.
Does it contain pesticides?
Our products are 100% free of pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides. We’re extremely careful and source only from 100% organic Colorado farms. And just to make sure pesticides have never come in contact, we routinely have our hemp tested by a third-party for potency and the presence of any toxins/pesticides. You can see the results on the certificate of analysis found on our website.
Key Things to Watch Out for When Purchasing CBD Oil for Your Pet
We mentioned above that choosing the right CBD oil for your pet can be tricky. Here are some things that you really have to watch out for when you’re purchasing CBD oil for your canine friend.
“Hemp 101” Label
As we have already explained above, you really need to be careful when reading the label. It is very rare to read “CBD Oil in product labels. Instead, you will read “hemp oil”. You should try to read some more and look for other terms like “phytochemical-rich” or PCR and “full spectrum hemp extract” as these will indicate that the extracts are derived from whole Cannabis sativa L plants. You may also need to check the ingredient list. If it has both hemp seed oil and hemp oil, do take note of the ‘hemp oil’ part as this is the CBD oil in that particular product.
Source of Hemp Extracts
The source of the hemp extracts should always be clearly indicated in the product that you’re buying. There are certain parts of the US that are well-regarded as hemp haven. For example, Colorado is well-known for its extensive hemp farms. There are also countries that have been growing premium-quality hemp products throughout the years.
Non-GMO, All-natural Ingredients
You don’t want the COD oil you’re going to give to your dog to be laced with harmful chemicals and other substances that may undermine the effectiveness of cannabidial. As such, you should always look for guarantees that the product doesn’t use GINO ingredients and that their product is made of only natural ingredients. If there are certifications from the USDA or even the FDA, then it should be a good sign.
The two most preferred extraction methods for CBD oil are super-critical CO2 extraction and cold press. These two methods of extraction are considered to be the most appropriate and the safest when it comes to retaining as much cannabidiol from the Cannabis sativa L plant.
